by Woody Woodrum HI Sr. Editor Hassan Whiteside, a 6-foot-11 freshman center from The Patterson School, has been cleared to practice and play with Donnie Jones' third edition of the Thundering Herd. Whiteside is expected to add depth at the center position and may allow 6-foot-8 senior Tyler Wilkerson to move out to a more natural power forward position. 6-foot-10 sophomore Nigel Spikes, who sat out with academics last season, is also eligible for the 2009-2010 season. Marshall is still waiting for clearance for DeAndre Kane, a 6-4 freshman guard who played with Whiteside at The Patterson School. Transfer Antonio Haymon will join in pre-season drills as soon as his paperwork is sent in from Cecil College, where he attended junior college last year. Haymon is a 6-foot-6 junior.
